Vertical or horizontal orientation?

All our boxes are hinged on the long edge for maximum strength.

Studio Boxes can be designed to open from the top (horizontal) or the side (vertical) and embossed accordingly. Which you choose will depend largely on whether the images to go in it are primarily vertical ("portrait") or horizontal ("landscape").

Premium Boxes always open from the side.

What about the mats?

In a horizontal box (designed to open from the top) "portrait" style mats will appear side-on in the box. In a vertical box, "landscape" style mats will appear side-on.

You can avoid "side-on" mats by choosing a different, smaller mat aperture.
