Studio Boxes

Beautiful photography, beautifully presented — that's what you and your clients deserve. If you're into portrait, boudoir or pet photography our new Studio Boxes are a must.

About Studio Boxes

Compared with our Premium Boxes (previously "Q-Boxes"), Studio Boxes are more affordable, of a simpler construction, with a one-piece lid and wider insert ribbon. They're available in two sizes (10x8 and 14x11) and three depths (for 10, 15 or 20 mats). Choose either Tintoretto (offset) or Silver Halide (photographic) printing.  You can add a USB insert to deliver your digital files.

Cover options: Pearl or Carbon (black) Buckram (which can be embossed with your clients' names, your studio logo, or both), or customisable printed Canvas.

Canvas Covers

If you prefer the printed canvas option you will need to upload the cover image, specify whether you want your studio logo to appear, choose one of our two fonts, and specify the cover/spine text if any.

We will send a design draft back for confirmation, including text placement and background colour choice (which we will eye-drop from the cover image). Read below for more information on picking your cover image.

Important information when picking your cover image:

Our designers will do their best to work with the image and text you provide, but here are some tips to ensure good results.

We generally recommend vertical boxes for portrait work (lid hinged on the left). Make sure the image does not have important subject matter close to the edge, where it can look awkward, as in the example below, or even disappear when the printed canvas is folded round the box lid in construction. If necessary you can clone areas of the image to extend the printed area, as in the example above.

Our designers may move text so it's not obscured by the image behind it. In the example below the text has been moved to the top right.

How to order

Ordering Studio Boxes is easy in Workspace. Simply click "Boxes for matted prints" under the Buy menu. You will be taken through the proccess of selecting the product.

Choose either a Premium or Studio Box, and the box depth to suit the number of mats.

Once you've done this it's time to set up your mats. You can select a different aperture for each mat. Drag from the templates on the right, and the images on the left. Once you've set up your mats, select the cover option and add any extras (eg USB insert or embossing).

If you're ordering a canvas cover you will be stepped through uploading your image, choosing the font, adding text etc.

On buckram covers you can select the embossing type and enter the text.

When finished, click "view cart" in the right hand corner of the mat designer and enter your details to process your order.

We will contact you to confirm your printed canvas design, or if we have any queries.
